Winter nights and days

Another weekend pasts as we step in to December and Christmas quickly bursts to light.  Many houses are already festooned with lights to keep up with the Jones' whose glitzy Rudolf figure of lights turned all the heads last year. Shopping is under control and even made a start on the Christmas cards, will they make the post this year without the normal rush to the postbox with two first class stamps in the corner with the hope they might get there faster and on time befor the big day.

The weekend started with a text from my daughter Mel, have I seen the moon?  Stepping outside into the frosty air to see a beautiful halo around the moon, beautiful! Tripod, camera, cable release and a series of shots for the keeping as the lunar ring fades into the surrounding star scape.  Sunday morning a brisk walk through Thetford Forest with Mel, Dean and the two dogs.  Cold in the shadows but warm in the sun and some photographs to share for Christmas.  Breakfast at Swallow Aquatics, they really have expanded the selection of birds, reptiles, insects and fish.  Busy week ahead so Sunday afternoon at the office, amazing what can get done when in a silent office.
